The new player who stayed

The origin story is preserved in full: Nov 20, 2020, fresh off a server search — "No idea. I am looking for a new server to play on and not sure how this one is. Just found the IP" … "I am fairly new to playing on servers". He was hooked within a week: villagers ("Anyone know where I can find villagers?"), the trading hall ("been working on the trading hall"), and the era's great teacher, failure: "lost all my gear in the end" (Dec 13) — after which he never once complained about the wither he had never fought (Dec 2) until he fought it. The farming district he built with ZippyZippy began with that first late-2020 plot.
